Youth Recovery Network Research & Practitioner Convening

This event  will engage researchers, practitioners, resource holders, and other

community leaders engaged in issues related to youth substance use and misuse
to learn about what a recovery-oriented system of care for youth looks like,
what's missing in Central Texas, and how the Youth Recovery Network's
approach is addressing these gaps.  Also, it will explore how researchers
and practitioners align to support better outcomes for youth experiencing
substance use and misuse.

Austin Area Opioid Work Group

The Opioid Work Group's mission will be to bring together the
recovery community  to identify gaps in service, best practices,
needed and existing resources, and whatever  else the group
sees fit to assist the population that has history or presently suffers
from opioid dependency.  This group will welcome and include
those that work with Medically Assisted Recovery Services
as well as the Harm Reduction community. 
Please come share your experience and your questions with us.   

This Work Group meets monthly on the third Thursday of the month.

Austin Recovery Family Support Group

Austin Recovery offers a one hour weekly Family Support Group to assist

family members in their own process of healing.  It is not necessary
for a loved one to be in treatment at Austin Recovery
to participate in the family support group.

Goals of the program include:
*Help each member of a client's family acquire knowledge
about chemical dependency issues
*Gain understanding of how he/she has been personally affected
by this disease
*Learn new skills to cope with the dysfunction
created by addiction
*Develop support with other families in the same/similar situations

​Integral Care now offering weekly Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) classes in
Austin and Georgetown.

MHFA is a one-day training that teaches people how to
help someone who may be experiencing a mental health crisis
or is showing signs of mental illness or substance use disorder. 
Thanks to a grant from the St. David’s Foundation, no one will be turned away.
 However, a donation of $10 is welcome.
